Highlights
HellFire 6, Day 2: Beautiful morning, warmed up nicely. The winds became a lot stronger after noon. I spent the morning preparing the Iris for my Level 3 attempt, and by 10:30 I was ready to launch. The Iris boosted nicely on the full M motor. Dual deployment worked as planned. There was no damage to the rocket, and after inspection I got my Level 3 certification. The Missile Works RRC2 reported 8844 feet, and the AltAcc reported 8601 feet, 6.4 Gs, 553 max. mph. Next I flew the Sandhawk on another K560-W. It had a nice flight, but landed in the shallow salt lake (about 3 inches deep). What a mess (I had to put the chute in the shower that night). The Missile Works RRC2 was unharmed, and beeped out 8594 feet. It became very windy in the afternoon, so I (and many other fliers) held off on any more launches.
