Highlights
HellFire 5, Day 2: Calm in the morning, but the winds became stronger as the day progressed. My first flight was the Nike Smoke on a K700-W. I wanted to fly this before it became too windy, as it deploys the main parachute at apogee. It had a nice flight, and the AltAcc reported 5976 feet. Next was the Sandhawk on a K560-W (75mm full K motor). It had an excellent flight , with the RRC2 reporting 8,453. It was finally time to start on my Iris for my Level 3 attempt. The checklist made preparation easy. The Iris flew very well on the M1939, but unfortunately the main chute deployed at apogee along with the drogue - and it has to deploy as planned (ie at 1000 feet), so I didn't certify. I also managed to get a small zipper in the "zipperless design", but it will be easily fixed. The last flight of the day was the Javelin 4.0 on a K550-W for a nice flight. The IA-X96 reported 8164 feet, 621 mph, and 14.2 Gs.
